Rose Quartz Origins & Myth

The origins of the rose quartz came from the Greek myth about Aphrodite and Adonis. Adonis was being attacked by a boar (it was the god Ares in disguised). Aphrodite, in trying to save her human lover, was cut by a thorn bush.  Their blood commingled and fell on white quartz to stain it a rose-pink color. The rose quartz became the symbol of love and reconciliation and the Romans to use the stone as a gift of love.

Rose Quartz Trivia:

Ever since 7,000 B.C, women in the ancient times used powdered rose quartz as beauty masks to preserve their youth and beauty and prevent aging. Egyptian and Roman noblewomen swear by their rose quartz mask for their wrinkle-free and porcelain complexions. Assyrians loved crafting the pink crystal into jewelry and ornaments while the Greeks used it to foster peace with their foes and rivals. The Romans used Rose Quartz as a claim of ownership during the height of their empire. They also believed that the precious pink crystal is the crystal of Venus, the goddess of love.
