Citrine Meaning:

If you are wondering where the name of this sunny yellow variety of quartz came from, it is derived from the Old French word for lemon – “citron”. Long ago, people believed that the warm color of the crystal was a gift from the sun, making it a favorite gemstone during autumn months.

Citrine Trivia:

Natural citrine is quite hard to find these days. Previously found all over the world, most of the modern caches of citrine are found high up in the Ural Mountains in Russia, plus countries like Kazakhstan and Madagascar. Most of the commercial citrine sold today are lab treated amethyst and quartz crystals heated to bring out the yellow color.
