AMETHYST
The name Amethyst is derived from the Greek word “ametusthos” (meaning “not drunk”). For many years, people thought that the Amethyst prevents drunkenness and overindulgence. This is the reason there are plenty of Greek cups and chalices plus talismans made out of amethyst dug up from ancient sites.
